I had been looking for a whole wheat or whole grain ditalini for my minestrone recipe - with no luck at any of my local grocery stores. I was happy to see this product offered through Amazon. It is smaller than the ditalini that I'm used to, but it works well in my recipe and even my picky kids like it.

I am dieting on WW and need to keep whole grains vs. white rice/pastas in my meal planning. This Kamut is Egyptian whole wheat, so if you like good whole wheat pastas out there, you should like this one too. The added benefit is 6 grams of fiber per 2 oz serving, very high. And the shape is one you cannot find out there, this is good for soups, sides, and salads with beans/veggies (as I have just made with it today). The taste & texture is very palatable to me and my husband. Box directions say to boil 9 - 11 mins; but once it returns to a boil, I'd simmer it only 7 or 8 mins to keep it 'al dente.'

It's not that the information in this book is bad or wrong, it's just that it can be obtained from any permaculture website in about 5 minutes. The book is very limited. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY!

...this is an excellent book. I might not agree with the author on every point, but there is enough good material in it that I am glad I purchased it.

This is a very shallow book by the new generation of writers that find fault with everything done in the twenty years before they were born,
Its very shallow, big type and very preachy.
If you are interested in gardening, try Giaas garden, a much more serious study of permiculture.
In this rambling book, the aurthor boasts of not making over 8 k a year, but inherited the money to buy her farm!
I liked camping living until I was thirty, now I am 45 and really like my freezer and new stove.( yes, I have my own three hens and belong to a CSA)
I know a number of the original flower/farm people, and as they got older they liked having a few more comforts.

So this is one of the new gen X books, shallow to a fault. Nothing but sound bites.
the aurthor sems all hyped about third world living, but I am not sure she has ever been to a third world and seen how hard that style of life is,,it is easy to glamorius the distant!!!

These area nice alternative to pop-tarts. If you can find them at a good price, they make a great 'sometimes' breakfast, even for a finicky toddler. They are not as completely frosted as pop tarts, but they taste good. As a former pop-tart junkie, I'm glad to be able to regress once in a while without taking in all the hydrogenated oils and artificial flavoring that marred the pop-tarts of my youth.

These are delicious. I was excited about the price, but the shipping on one box is only a dollar less than the cost of the product! $12 to get it to me????? No thanks.
